Information on Racks by Atlas Sound
What type of rack do you want?
  1. Free standing
  2. Ganging
  3. Wall mount
  4. Desk top
  5. Portable

How much room will you need?
  1. What is the total height (in Rack Units) of the equipment to be mounted?
  2. What is the deepest dimension of your equipment?
  3. Do you need space for future expansion?
  4. Do you need rear rails?

Are casters needed?
Refer to caster selection chart.

Does the rack need to be enclosed?
  1. Sides, tops, and doors are standard on some models, options on others, and not available on still other models.
  2. A rear door may be needed to keep operators away from the connections on the back while a front door is not required. A different key is needed for front doors than rear doors for the same reason. The contractor wants to give the customer access to the face of the equipment, but doesn't want them “making adjustments” with the back of the equipment.
  3. Solid steel, perforated and Plexiglas front doors available.

Is each piece of equipment rack mountable or do you need shelves?

  1. See SH Series of shelves.

Will you need rack mounted electronic accessories?

  1. AC power strips and power panels?
  2. Monitor panels?
  3. Sequential switching?

Is ventilation important?
  1. Perforated doors?
  2. Vented blank panels?
  3. Top mounted fans?
  4. Panel mounted fans?
  5. Air filter?

How would you like to fill any blank spaces?
